Model 1032B splice detector technology on their various sheeting processes to detect mill, but and overlap type splices that exist within a variety of grades and weights of papers. “The detection capability of the 1032B is the best available in the world today and can easily detect mill, butt or overlap type splices of any type, color or caliper,” states R.K.B. The Model 1032B Splice Detector is capable of monitoring single or multiple webs of papers, plastics, films, and other types of nonmetallic materials. Outputs produced by the device can be used to automatically control production equipment such as sheeters, coaters, supercalenders, extrusion laminators, roto presses, slitters, rewinders, and paper machines, which ensures improved quality and reduces downgrades and rejects. The Model 1032B Splice Detector is designed for center of web mounting, eliminating the need for repositioning to accommodate changes in web width under just-in-time, short run, or high product mix manufacturing conditions.
