Syracuse, NY, June 28, 2002 – R.K.B. OPTO-ELECTRONICS, INC. (R.K.B), a world's leading supplier of machine vision and web inspection solutions, announced today that it has successfully started up another CCD Camera-based Machine Vision Inspection System. The web inspection solution was designed for a leading supplier of specialty and construction paper. RKB’s solution referred as its Model 3040, is based on using 2048 pixel line scanning technology and is accredited by leading technical associations like accredited as such by leading technical associations like the Institute of Paper Science and Technology.  

The R.K.B Model 3040 OPTOMIZER will be utilized on a paper machine production line to check for quality in their high-end specialty grades. The 3040 will inspect for holes, dirt, edge cracks, oil, bugs and other defects commonly found in the paper manufacturing processes. The Model 3040 provides defect information that facilitates accurate removal of sever defects during the winding process. The Model 3040 is a state-of-the-art machine vision web inspection system that can be used on any type of web based material manufacturing process where detection of autonomous type defects is required. Other applications include film, foil, steel coated papers and board.
