Avery Dennison Corp Again Selects RKB Splice Detection Technology
Syracuse, NY, September 20, 2002-R.K.B. OPTO-ELECTRONICS, INC., the world’s leading supplier of splice detection technology, has been selected by Avery Dennison Corporation to supply its Model 1032B® Splice Detection Solution. Avery Dennison is a global leader in pressure-sensitive technology and innovative self-adhesive solutions for consumer products and label materials. This acquisition marks the 31st system to be implemented throughout the Avery Dennison organization worldwide.
R.K.B is proud to continue its partnership with Avery Dennison as a valued supplier of their quality control and assurance objectives. “Over the years, R.K.B has provided Avery Dennison with many successful splice detection solutions. Our partnership has grown and will continue to grow as the need for essential and reliable fault detection becomes more vital to ensure Avery Dennison’s customers receive the highest quality and splice free product available” stated Bruce T. Dobbie, President and CEO of R.K.B.
The Model 1032B Splice Detector detects sudden changes in web
material thickness due to splices or web breaks in high-speed papermaking,
printing, converting, and similar manufacturing processes. The Model 1032B
Splice Detector helps manufacturers prevent costly repairs to rolls, dies, and
sensitive production equipment. It also helps to reduce costs for producing,
sorting, and disposing of defective products. The Model 1032B Splice Detector is
capable of monitoring single or multiple webs of papers, plastics, films, and
other types of nonmetallic materials. Outputs produced by the device can be used
to automatically control production equipment such as sheeters, coaters,
supercalendars, extrusion laminators, roto presses, slitters, rewinders, and
paper machines. The Model 1032B Splice Detector is designed for center of web
mounting, eliminating the need for repositioning to accommodate changes in web
width under just-in-time, short run, or high product mix manufacturing
conditions. It can be installed at any convenient position in the web's path to
provide defect detection at the earliest possible stage of the process. |
