Alcan Selects New RKB Splice Detection Technology for Metallized Web Material Production

The Model 1032C Splice Detector is used on various laminating and extrusion processes where metallized material is present throughout the web.
The Model 1032C Splice Detector uses a proprietary sensing and signal processing technology to monitor a single web of metallic, as well as, non-metallic papers, films and foils for splices. Model 1032C Splice Detectors provide accurate, consistent and reliable on-line inspection for processes up to 1500 fpm (450 m/min). Modular in design, the Model 1032C Splice Detector can be easily integrated with new or existing production equipment. Each Model 1032C system has self compensating and self aligning capabilities allowing the unit to automatically adjust to changes in caliper or type of web material unlike competitive sensor, photo cells or ultrasonic type sensors. The Model 1032C Splice Detector helps manufacturers reduce product damage and downtime while preventing costly repairs to rolls, dies, and sensitive production equipment.
