Paper Maker Picks RKB Multicolor Web Spray Marking Technology
Syracuse, NY, April 1, 2003 - R.K.B. OPTO-ELECTRONICS, INC., a world leading supplier of machine vision and web inspection solutions, announced today that a leading Chinese manufacturer of coated papers has invested in the RKB Model 1280® Multicolor Spray Marking System.
Our multicolor spray marking solution is intended to be employed in industrial web manufacturing processes for marking the edge of moving webs of material, which are reeled up subsequent to the application of the mark. The mark itself is made by spraying suitable marking fluids on to the sheet edge such that when reeled up, the marks are visible as concentric, colored rings on the end of the reel. The spray marker may be employed with various types of automatic web inspection systems, or process control equipment to place marks at the sheet edge whenever a defect fault is identified in the web or when a process unit has failed to perform its application to a web. The multicolor markers provide a red, blue, green, black or orange spray for different signals. These enables the colors to be used to indicate defect fault location in the cross machine direction, defect fault classification and type or which process unit such as a coater or treater may have failed.
Founded to meet the needs of multinational paper, film, foil, steel,
non-wovens and other allied manufacturers for web inspection related equipment,
R.K.B. designs, develops, manufactures, and markets the
most diverse line of
machine vision web inspection solutions in the world. R.K.B was the first
commercial on-line web inspection supplier in the world. With more than fifty
years experience in web inspection development, techniques and solutions, R.K.B
has significantly extended the benefits of automatic optical web inspection.
Early R.K.B systems were based on patented
ultraviolet, photomultiplier and
infrared, phototransistor technology. In the 1970’s, R.K.B developed and
patented the first camera-based system called the Vidicon 7000. Using the most
advanced technology available, RKB streak detection systems can monitor and
detect streaks and scratches down to sizes that no other company can achieve no
matter what process speed you’re manufacturing at. Our
patented streak detection
technology truly is the latest breakthrough in the art of defect fault
detection. This advanced scanner truly represents a quantum leap forward in the
technology! |
