OPTO-ELECTRONICS, Incorporated (R.K.B), a world's leading supplier of machine vision and web inspection solutions, announced today that a leading Asian paper manufacturer will integrate two patented, state-of-the-art coating streak detection solutions into their high end quality coated paper processes.

The R.K.B “Streak Detection” solution will be utilized on a coating line and is designed, in this application, to inspect for coating streaks and scratches down to 0.008” (0.2mm) wide with the option to upgrade to detection levels of 0.002” (0.05mm) wide at production speeds well in excess of typical processes. The streak detection solution is a state-of-the-art, patented machine vision technology designed for use to automatically identify, detect, classify and display coating streaks and scratches (scores, grit lines) that commonly occur in many types of coated material processes such as paper, film, foil, steel and other allied industry products.
