German Manufacturer of Analog and Digital Imaging Materials Upgrades R.K.B. Web Inspection Technology
Syracuse, NY, May 01, 2004 – R.K.B. OPTO-ELECTRONICS, INC. (R.K.B), a leading supplier of paper web inspection, machine vision and material vision inspection technologies announced today the it has been awarded a contract to upgrade an existing web inspection system by a leading German manufacturer of imaging materials.
The web inspection system is utilized on finishing equipment where it inspects for various coating voids in photosensitive coated printing plates. The inspection system is interfaced into reject control technology also provided by R.K.B. to ensure defect blankets, as they are called, are removed prior to shipment ensuring 100% quality of shipped products. Originally developed and patented by R.K.B. in the late 1960's, this technology has shown that even today, older and reliable technology does have a place over newer forms of inspection technology. Cost effective and stable, the Model 2060 will provide accurate detection of autonomous defects ensuring your company maintains its quality initiatives.
The web inspection system is used to automatically identify, detect, classify and
display autonomous defects like holes, dark spots, oil, scale, edge cracks, hard
wrinkles and other defect flaws in any type of non-coated or coated material
such as paper, film, foil, steel and other materials. R.K.B.
