Note: If you web speed is less than 100 fpm, specialized circuitry may have to be applied.  If you purchase this unit and it is found that specialized circuitry is required due to misinformation, all monies applicable will be charged, then applied as a credit for replacement of this standard unit with a specialized unit.  Additional fees may be applied.

Prevent Costly Repair:  Reduce downtime while preventing costly repairs to rolls, dies, and delicate process equipment used in web based material manufacturing and conversion processes with our patented state-of-the-art splice detection technology.  Since this splice detector is a capacitor the web material is treated as a dielectric.  Therefore immediate and sudden changes in material thickness due to splices and web breaks in the dielectric are instantly revealed as a change in capacitance.

Ensure Product Quality:  Our technology has been successfully applied to ensure delivered product quality in many different grades of material on equipment such as:

    Sheeters

    Coaters

    Supercalenders

    Extrusion Laminators

    Roto Presses

    Slitters

    Rewinders

    Paper Machinery

Monitor Multiple Webs:  A single unit will monitor up to 16 or more webs of material simultaneously for on-line detection of splices.  It automatically adjusts to changes in the # of webs, type and caliper of materials.  Special splice markings of any kind are not required.

Limit Setup Time:  Designed for center of web mounting, our Splice Detector eliminates the need for repositioning to accommodate changes in web width.  It can be installed at any convenient position in the web's path to provide defect detection at the earliest possible stage of the process.  Both a signal contact closure and a signal digital pulse output are integrated with each splice detector for control or activation of peripheral equipment such as audio/visual alarms, counters, sorters, coating head applicators, corona treaters, edge marking systems and reject gate controls.  All of our splice detection technologies can be combined with our own Model 1280 Edge Marking Technology™ and Model 1122 Reject Gate Control Computer™ for completely unattended operation of your production equipment.

Expect Reliability:  With thousands of installations in over 120 countries worldwide, our splice detection technologies have been effectively established to ensure delivered product superiority on tens of thousands of materials, coated and non-coated such as papers, films, nonwovens, textiles, and tapes.  Our splice detection technologies are installed on many types of machinery including sheeters, on and off machine coaters, extrusion laminators, supercalenders, rotogravure and flexographic printing presses, holographic processes, textile and nonwoven machinery.  Low speed to high speed, R.K.B. Splice Detectors are proven time and time again to be the leader in performance, reliability and price.
